Continuing Education Options at the 2010 MACUL Conference

Graduate Credit

You can earn graduate credit for your participation at the 2010 MACUL conference. The number of graduate credits you can earn is dependent on how much, if any, additional work you do beyond your attendance at the conference. A range of 1-3 graduate credits is available through University of Michigan-Flint and CMU.  The information below provides details about the cost of the credit and the process for pre-registering for credit. Representatives for U M - Flint and CMU will be available on-site to enroll those interested in earning graduate credit.

University of Michigan-Flint

 The University of Michigan - Flint will offer 1-2 graduate credits to interested conference attendees who participate fully in pre-conference and/or conference sessions; participation in supplemental conference sessions with related online online instruction may qualify for a total of 1-3 graduate credits. for more information, stop by the registration area, visit booth #103, or contact Robert Hahn at rhahn@umflint.edu or 810.766.6620

Central Michigan University

Central Michigan University graduate credit is available for those participating in the MI-Champions program.  MI-Champions participants interested in the CMU graduate credit should contact Sharon Horgan, booth #138.

SB-CEU Credit

A sliding scale of SB-CEU credit is offered on a limited basis at the 2010 MACUL conference. The amount of credit you earn is based on the number of sessions you attend. You must sign in and out of every session you attend in order to earn credit. For example, if you sign in for five sessions on one day you are likely to receive 0.5 SB-CEUs. If you sign in for five sessions on Thursday, four sessions on Friday and a pre-conference workshop, you are likely to receive 1.2–1.5 SB-CEUs.

To apply for credit, pick up a SB-CEU form at the registration area. Take the form to SB-CEU eligible sessions to be stamped and initialed at the beginning and conclusion of the session. You must sign in within the first ten minutes of the session. You may not sign out of the session prior to its conclusion. Before you leave the conference, take your completed sign-in sheet to the Help/SB-CEU Desk at the conference registration area.

You are required to pay a $10 application fee to apply for SB-CEU credit. You must pay your $10 fee at the conference when you submit your sign-in sheet. Sign-in sheets are only accepted on site during the conference and will not be accepted by mail or after the conclusion of the conference. 

Not all sessions are eligible for SB-CEU credit. SB-CEU credit is offered only for the sessions indicated with a symbol in the Program Book. Therefore, you can only earn credit at the sessions that are designated as SB-CEU eligible.

You must attend a minimum of five hours in order to be eligible for credit. If you do not sign in for a minimum of five contact hours you have not met the State minimum requirement and will not be eligible for credit.
