Top 6 Reasons to Join

Membership in MACUL provides you with four issues of the MACUL Journal every year. Each issue is focused on a theme, such as handheld computing, NETS Standards, online learning, and more. You also receive monthly email updates and communications about the latest and greatest ways to integrate technology in teaching, learning and leading.
  2. Stay connected and supported.

MACUL members are able to network with fellow educators across Michigan and the Midwest who share an interest in educational technology. Special Interest Groups, Listservs and special events offer opportunities to learn from others. MACUL also supports the membership through annually honoring our Teacher and Educator and Technology Coordinator of the Year. Your MACUL membership also qualifies you for a discounted membership in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), connecting you with technology using educators across the world.

  3. Stay informed.

MACUL members are always the first to hear about special workshops, grants, and other news that might take weeks to filter down through the information chain in your district. Through affiliation with ISTE, MACUL members are able to learn about how initiatives in Washington D.C. impact on Michigan classrooms. MACUL has entered into a partnership with The Big Deal Book of Technology as a newsletter where we provide our members with current sources of grant and contest information, free materials and equipment, professional development training programs, research reports of interest and interactive web sites to engage students in learning.

MACUL members can take advantage of many professional development opportunities, such as one of the Midwest's largest educational technology event, the annual MACUL conference. Special Interest Group workshops, held in various locations around the state, also offers in-depth training on a multitude of ed tech topics. Other MACUL conferences include Mobile Learning Conference, and Michigan Digital Learning Conference, GoogleFEST, and the Upper Peninsula MACUL conference.
